Ever wondered how some businesses become the talk of the town? How do they get customers gushing about their fantastic service? It’s all about reviews! Christopher Lollini, our guest on HVAC Sucess Secrets: Revealed podcast, shared his wisdom on how important reviews are for your HVAC business. He said, “Reviews are the heartbeat of your business. They let you know how healthy your relationship with customers really is.”
Those one or two not-so-great reviews make the good ones shine brighter
Chris Lollini
Christopher brought up some really clever points about how to get those golden stars from happy folks. One of his top tips? Following up fast! “You’ve got to strike while the iron is hot. Getting a review within 72 hours of service is the sweet spot,” he advises.
A big takeaway for HVAC owners is making it easy peasy for customers to leave Google reviews. Chris shared this nugget, “Hand them a Google review link on a silver platter, so leaving that five-star review is a no-brainer.” He even gave a pro tip on the magic number, saying, “A rating of 4.7 is solid gold. It’s believable and shows you’re not just spinning a yarn.”
But guess what? Christopher tells us that we shouldn’t be scared of the less-than-perfect reviews. “Those one or two not-so-great reviews make the good ones shine brighter,” he explained. They show that your business is real and you care about making things right.
Now, you might wonder how often customers leave Google reviews. Chris’s answer was pretty surprising. “You’d be amazed, but only about 5% will leave reviews unless you really connect with them,” he said. So, the secret sauce is in building a genuine relationship with customers and aiming for at least a 10% review response rate.
Chris is a super fan of using data to make decisions. “You have to test what works and keep tweaking things. It’s like having a secret map to hidden treasure,” he shared. This means looking at what you’re doing through a magnifying glass and changing things until you hit the jackpot.
One of our favorite parts was when Christopher reminded us that our service continues after the job is done. “You’ve got to keep the conversation going. It’s like asking for directions – you wouldn’t just walk away mid-sentence, would you?” That’s why continuous customer engagement is key.
It's all about timing. Give folks a bit of space…
Chris Lollini
Chris has some advice for business owners thinking about automation. “Don’t let robots do all the talking. Keep it genuine.” He believes that social media marketing has a place at the family table and is not handed off to just anyone. That’s how you keep things feeling real.
And let’s talk timing – Chris dropped a golden rule. “It’s all about timing. Give folks a bit of space – like 4 to 6 hours – then send them a little hello via email, but never after bedtime. You’re looking for a thumbs up, not to be seen as pesky.”
One fun fact we learned is that people love to help others, even when it comes to reviews. Christopher suggested, “Just like good friends, we’ve got to help one another out. Showing appreciation goes a long way.” That gives everyone a warm and fuzzy feeling.
Christopher wasn’t shy about urging businesses to strive for top-notch results. “Don’t settle for less – aim for the stars with your reviews.” Christopher is a big believer in setting goals high, like aiming for a 30% review target. He even talks about making a game out of it with a leaderboard. “Everybody loves a bit of healthy competition,” he chuckled.
But he also cautioned about rewards: “While a little incentive can be a good thing, don’t overdo it. You want folks to feel good about giving a review, not like they’re just doing it for a freebie.”
And here’s a bit of wisdom about the Hawaiian shirt in your closet – just like wearing it can make you smile, a good review can lighten everything up. Chris says that positive reviews “can lead to happy customers who might even forget about the bill because they’re too busy smiling about the great service!”
Remember, as Chris said, “Obsessing about reviews can turn your business into a five-star act in town!” So, let’s start caring, sharing, and getting those reviews to build an HVAC business that shines brighter than the rest!
So, HVAC heroes, what’s your next move? Are you ready to build trust, engage with customers, and watch those Google reviews roll in? Just imagine the boost those stars will give to your business. Time to get out there and make Christopher’s words a reality!
Until next time,
